I watched The Great Flood and enjoyed the drama of it, the AI training was pretty compelling, the prioritization of the mother-son dynamic as the core template from which a future synthetic humanity will be based on, all that. My only issue is why go through all that just to preserve humanity.

Just to clarify I hate making phone calls in general especially if it's for something new, so this is one of the few instances where I felt comfortable making a call, but having an AI greet me was strange but understandable, a sign of the times, and also a bit sad.
I cancelled my physio session through an AI customer support bot on the phone. I'm a long-time client so it felt a little weird because I was wanting to chat a bit (Ireland trains you to), but my therapist knew me so he emailed me even if the AI had already confirmed it and somehow that made my day.
I think tits are hilarious little birds their legs are so skinny like drawn-on sticks and they're so small just walking around like nobody's business, not that afraid of the goth-kid corvids. Can it just be my full-time job to make friends with these folks instead of yet-another tech-centric gig?

Shocked to learn XCOM is decades old! Was watching XCOM Enemy Within and apparently it's a mix of resource management, turn-based combat, missions, pretty good cinematic and I'm a big fan of the cross-section style thing at the home base. Amazing stuff.
Has anybody read "Mama!" by Banana Yoshimoto in Dead-End Memories? Book is due so I can't reread but [spoiler!] was Mimi (narrator) the writer Yamazoe (poisoner) was stalking? And that she'd told us nothing about this part of her life or was I to deduce some parallels from her childhood memories?
