Apparently this got resurrected and retweeted recently, which made me remember it exists. Please enjoy
I watch a lot of vet and animal rescue stuff and I've heard "the last act of kindness" used for euthanasia and I feel it's very fitting. The responsibility for a life is very heavy, and maybe at its most crushing when euthanasia is the kindest choice we can make. You made a kind choice for her. β€οΈβπ©Ή
Listen: buy yourself a tub seat. You can get one that folds, even, if you live in a small place like I do. They make narrow ones. Whatever youβre about to tell me to excuse it because you feel weird: they make one to solve that problem, and your crabby disabled auntie is telling you to do it
I'm not on here much anymore but I was just thinking of you recently. I'm sorry things have been so hard. π (I'm also sorry that I was one of the people who gave you really unhelpful kid advice in the past, it was not very good-friend of me.)
I just bought mine!

The news does not wait for you to get dressed
That tracks, this is a very journalist thing to do
Every photo from Minneapolis looks like this. Cops decked out with guns and full tac gear facing off against people in bathrobes, parkas, and sweatpants armed only with whistles and cell phones.
Yet every verified MAGA chode on X dutifully calls it a riot or violent insurrection.
1. @matthewcort.land's guide is very detailed, and they are a trusted source for this sort of call to action. If you have the time to go through the whole thing, it'll really help you craft the most impactful comment.

Judge Biery signed the order with a photo of Liam and two bible verses: The first is "But Jesus said, Suffer little children, and forbid them not, to come unto me: for of such is the kingdom of heaven." The second is simply "Jesus wept."
Astonishing thing for a judge to do.
So the House is going to vote TOMORROW on the DHS funding bill that includes funding for ICE.
There's a real chance we can get Dems to vote NO on any bill with ICE funding to sink it.
Once it goes to the Senate we likely lose this chance.
24 hours. Go.

A propaganda poster in a painterly style. At the top there is a Nazi soldier in a faded grey with his hands raised at the point of a bayonet. Above him it says "We beat 'em before.." Below him in darker grey is an ICE agent in the same posture, with a hand pushing back at him, its palm out in a "stop" gesture. The hand is from the Portland Frog, a person in an inflatable frog suit. Below it says "We'll beat 'em again!"
"We Beat 'Em Before... (Portland's Version)"
This idea came to me late. I think it fits really well since Portland Frog Brigade literally carries no weapons and yet ICE has no idea how to respond to them. Just feckless incompetent goons all around.
As usual I'm not on here much but I'm so sorry, I know this has been such an ordeal. Let me know if I can help with anything from nearby
weβre in the vetβs office waiting room and they just called for Agamemnon. we all looked at the Great Dane but it turns out Agamemnon is an orange kitten in a backpack that makes him look like an astronaut cheese puff
OF THE EMPIRE We will be known as a culture that feared death and adored power, that tried to vanquish insecurity for the few and cared little for the penury of the many. We will be known as a culture that taught and rewarded the amassing of things, that spoke little if at all about the quality of life for people (other people), for dogs, for rivers. All the world, in our eyes, they will say, was a commodity. And they will say that this structure was held together politically, which it was, and they will say also that our politics was no more than an apparatus to accommodate the feelings of the heart, and that the heart, in those days, was small, and hard, and full of meanness.
Ever relevant, this poem by Mary Oliver, especially today.
2 stills from the animated series Bob's Burgers. Top. Bob, a middle aged man in a white t-shirt and apron is walking up a flight of stairs. His daughter Louise is standing at the top of the flight. She is wearing a green dress and pink rabbit ear hat. At the bottom of the still says "It's been a rough year." Bottom. Same set up however Bob is a little more up the stairs and looking down exhausted. At the bottom of the still says "it's the first week of January."
You go down a fun research rabbit hole for all of THREE HOURS and
I sure do! though I'm still trying to get my own right before I make them for anyone else

Just popping in bc I've been feeling disconnected from current events. Health is still variable. Doing intake with vocational rehab to see if they can help place me in a job that won't wreck my health. Started stimulants for ADHD--incredible. Have mostly had cromolyn but availability is still dicey.
Thank you for looking! My dice sales basically all go towards food and vet bills for both my birds and rats!
@loridiletto.bsky.social I'm like never here anymore but I see you have rebranded and wanted to say you are killing it with the new photos, the green velvet and the lace are ππ
As far as I remember, Amazon requires each selling company to have a unique name, so... apparently that's the easiest way to accomplish that. Not the most trust-inspiring was, but I guess the easiest

The numbers in here are hilarious.

Geordi La Forge Nope/Yes meme, but the yes has laser eyes in the visor: NOPE: "Do Not Comply In Advance" - bossy - already a cliche - implies permission to comply later YES: "Fuck You, Make Me" - leads by example - directs yelling at opposition instead of allies - easy to chant at a protest or put on a banner
I know Iβm not really here much (I check messages/notifications though), but I wanted to share the gofundme of someone in the ME community.
