I first came across Maggie Patterson (the whiz behind Staying Solo) years ago, when I was looking for resources that would validate my desire *not* to do VIP days (IYKYK).
So I was naturally delighted to be on her latest podcast seriesβthe Staying Solo Stories: bsfreebusiness.com/solopreneur-...

The AI Mode search results for "how to perform an SEO audit" with a red box around the citation for Exploding Topics.
I see lots of issues with AIO & AI Mode but ya girl can get the AI to pick up content quick. It took 4 hours for an @explodingtopics.bsky.social post I wrote to land in the SERP, AI Mode, & Chat GPT. Also the ET blog is legit useful (I was a reader before I began contributing); go check it out! #seo

Ed Zitron: But nevertheless, and still your point's made.
Shingy: But it's way better than me as a first draft at copywriting, so...
Ed Zitron (highlighted for emphasis): Yeah, but that's a skill issue, Shingy. Like you could get better by writing more.
Not unexpected per se from @edzitron.com but still refreshing to hear someone immediately point out that ChatGPT being "better at writing" isn't a reflection of the tool being GOOD, it's a reflection of the user's skill level with that craft. Via Better Offline: www.youtube.com/watch?v=RuG9...

An article from Maxwell Zeff at TechCrunch says "Microsoft and OpenAI have a financial definition of AGI: Report." The article goes on to say "The two companies reportedly signed an agreement last year stating OpenAI has only achieved AGI when it develops AI systems that can generate at least $100 billion in profits. That's far from the rigorous technical and philsophical definition of AGI many expect."
You know how sometimes the head of a big popular AI company says a lot of stuff about getting closer to AGI? Here's a fun fact: to them, AGI is just a $ level, not the stuff of sci-fi. If someone tells you we're at AGI, doubt 'em. techcrunch.com/2024/12/26/m...

AI governance is an increasingly important part of using artificial intelligence at work in 2025βhere are the top things you must know to be prepared.
The AI hype cycle does *not* include enough conversation about governance. It's not the magic solution to making generative AI at work a good idea...but if you're gonna use it, you gotta think about guardrails. A brief primer I wrote: www.upwork.com/resources/wh...
