Disagree! Kale is the devil’s food. Jalapeños, however? 💯

10/10 recommend. Almost finished this account of treating those who’ve committed the worst of crimes. Adshead is remarkable in her ability to humanise the offenders without excusing their actions. Brilliant read.
If you don’t love Derek in #shrinking something is truly wrong.
This! So much this. And then they complain about needing to cut words.
Use the active voice. It’s not hard.
Disappointed ending of #NightManager Season 2.
Meh.
Derek is back on TV. Life is good again.

I played netball for the first time in 25years tonight.
On the one hand I feel incredibly old.
On the other this is the first aerobic activity I’ve done since Covid where I felt good so this is a huge milestone.
Recovery from #longcovid is so very slow, but it is possible to reclaim lost ground. 🥳
Nothing quite feels as organised and responsible as renewing car/home insurance a leisurely full month in advance.
Rewatching S1 of Shrinking with a whole extra level of appreciation for Derek. The world needs more Derek. Outstanding.

This woman is an inspiration. I can report in all honesty that eggnog in earl grey was the delightful surprise I did not know I needed.
Thank you, @hownottodraw.bsky.social
Long Covid progress: managed a 20min slightly aerobic workout yesterday. This is huge!
It’s the first time in a LONG time where I’ve been able to get my heart rate up, break even a little sweat, and not find myself dizzy, nauseous, and with a headache.

Ludo! What a fantastic name for a Leonberger. My favourite labyrinth character. 💗
This. For other reasons I’ll never be able to get over how they ended Ted Lasso. But now I feel betrayed by Nick all over again.
Remind me never to befriend Nick Mohammed. #celebritytraitors #bbc
Finally feeling well enough to read (thank you, flu). Spending time with my Armand, Jean-Guy, and Isabelle is an excellent way to do it. Thank you, @louisepennyauthor.bsky.social for another instalment!
Robin taking shelter from the rain in our garden.
This headline is quite confusing to a biblical scholar.
Pretty sure there’s nothing better than getting home from work and having your Labrador snuggle up to fall asleep on you. 🥰
Lewis Capaldi on Graham Norton this week might be my favourite thing. 10/10 would pass the 2 beers and a puppy test.
🤦♀️ No words.
A smiling Jane Goodall with long gray hair pulled back, wearing a cream turtleneck and patterned jacket, standing in front of green plants. Text on the image reads: “What you do makes a difference, and you have to decide what kind of difference you want to make.” Below, it says “Jane Goodall (1934–2025).
Jane Goodall passed away on October 1 at 91. She showed us all that every life matters and that what we do makes a difference. Today we honor her by holding more wonder, more compassion, more courage.

@davidcollinsnews.bsky.social I’ve been reading your excellent book the Hunt for Silver Killer and discussing it with a colleague. This week I read this BBC news story of an apparently similar murder-suicide in Oxfordshire. I wondered if you’d come across it? www.bbc.co.uk/news/article...
Long covid win: it’s been a week and NO palpitations or heart rate spikes. Baby steps, but good news!
Not just people of a certain age. 😊
Fair enough. The Sting is my GOAT, so I’m amazed it didn’t make the cut.
What about The Sting?!
give Jeff Hiller every Emmy forever IMO
Has hit the jackpot on cookbooks. Got a Mediterranean diet one by Elena Paraventes (olivetomato.com) and everything I’ve made is delicious. Food has never been so tasty. 😋
Glad I’m not the only one 😂
Interesting! In my experience in the States, Episcopalians generally kneel first of the Eucharistic Prayer and receiving communion. My experience in England has been to stand/sit for the prayer and usually stand to receive (though some places kneel). My own preference is to stand.
