A5 #WomenWritersNet We need more older women demonstrating that romance and intimacy is still relevant at 50, 60, 70+. I think slowly, we are seeing female protagonists in this vein

A4 #WomenWritersNet and it can be affirming when a protagonist actively chooses an alternative to romance
A4 #WomenWritersNet I agree @valeriavescina.bsky.social it's the potential warmth in a relationship that draws me in
I've been very much a 'fade to black' writers where sex scenes are concerned...
A2 ##WomenWritersNet Characters, like people, can fall in love with the most unlikely people...but making that realistic in fiction is so much harder than in real life!
Ah yes, different projects at different stages makes great sense
I'm intrigued by how you go about writing about pre-history @brethertonwords.bsky.social
What are your best tips for juggling @brethertonwords.bsky.social ?? Something I always struggle with...but do you find several projects keep you stimulated?
Coming soon...!
Thank you for sharing #womenwritersnet π

Dundeeβs dragon sculpture, commissioned from Alastair Smart who died before being able to carry out the work. Tony Morrow adapted Alastairβs original design to create the final work. The photo shows a bronze dragon, hunched and coiled, its body low to the ground and its head raised on the end of a long neck. Ragged wings are folded across its back and its long tail wraps itself in a spiral around a tall bronze pole. The statue is in a pedestrian precinct, with trees in the background. The photo is taken at night, and the statue is illuminated by bright green lights shining up from ground level.
βThe City of Dundee is full of dragons. In the Murraygate, youβll find a green statue prowlingβ¦ Atop the spire of St Andrewβs church near the Wellgate, a dragon watches the city moving below, and the crest of Dundee bears two dragons whose tails are intertwinedβ

SinΓ©ad's first single, Troy. Stunning and brilliant.
But I will rise
And I will return
The Phoenix from the flame
I have learned
I will rise
And you'll see me return
Being what I am
There is no other Troy
For me to burn

My Author Interview with @womenwritersnet.bsky.social asked about research for "Letters From Elena". Writing about Cyprus 2004 was from personal experience, but for 1974 I read Lawrence Durrell & Colin Thubron (ever-inspiring) and Hazel Thurston's 1971 guidebook was invaluable - and fascinating.
Me, too! And I'm...er...in the chair π€£ I'm only getting through thanks to @ritakitty.bsky.social's expertise, patience and generosity - not to mention help and encouragement from @drhelenmtaylor.bsky.social and all @womenwritersnet.bsky.social
Looking through @legendpress.bsky.social 's catalogue is like looking at a wall of art. It 'might' be that i judge a book by its cover and it 'might' be one of my reasons for originally submitting. Or it might not π
A4 Yes, indeed. And even more so back in the early seventies. Now, we might ask why April was never given Elena's Letters. Back then, it was 'least said soonest mended' and April was expected to accept events and move on #WomenWritersNet
