Has anyone ever done a furry world where they speak using a sort of sign language? I think the idea of anthros not being able to articulate speech cross-species (or sometimes within their own) and adapting to this limitation through body language is kinda cool.

Ik y’all are here to see my fatties buttttt I am a chronic yapper and I like the idea of worldbuilding in furry media beyond the realm of “it’s fiction so it just works that way”.

Or would the post-ice age climate change have inevitably pushed these species to extinction anyway? Additionally, if we suppose a fur-society mirrors human civilization, would modern species still be present- as they wouldn’t be constrained to ecosystem collapse or overhunting?

For example: for species in the Holocene or even the Pleistocene (about the time human groups were beginning to aggregate in intelligent Stone Age groups) would Paleolithic furs, like mammoth, have begun forming interspecies groups that offset their real extinction by reducing resource dwindling?

I think an interesting concept for furry media is the idea of extinction and evolution. when do furries become anthropomorphic and cooperative in an earth timeline? Would extinct species have survived in a fur-world if interspecies social development existed prior to their real extinction?

I would be tempted to say they’re using bugs as a source of protein too, but after knowing only the reptiles and amphibians are eating bugs Idkkkkk.

Along the lines of my last post: what are the animals in zootopia eating? The new canon that reptiles, amphibians, and birds are anthro has kinda limited the predators to meeting their nutritional requirements on fish and mollusks. for every predator in the world? Sounds like an overfishing crisis.

Perhaps the non-chordates evolved to fill the niches? I think it would be interesting to see a furry world in which arthropleura evolve to dominate the natural landscape while chordates build urban areas. But there’s have to be some scientific liberties taken to support their development.

Being an ecologist furry is weird bc every time I see media set in a furry world all I can think about is like… who’s performing all the ecological niches? Arthropods? Mollusca?
Like if all complex animals are living in urban environments then there must be a hefty ecological disaster.
