Big update! After months of pushing and appealing, my insurance finally approved my knee surgery and hip injection! Everything is officially scheduled, and I’m so relieved. This will finally start to ease the pain that’s been nonstop on my right side. I’m hopeful this will bring some real relief.

After my doctor fighting since June 6th to get my insurance to appeal their denial of my surgery, they sent me a letter marked the 30th that they approved the appeal! It just had to happen between June 30th (The day they approved it), and July 30th, I see my dr tomorrow for my history/physical!

Health update: PT’s on pause, my ortho wants to do a knee scope. I was dx with dancer’s hip (snapping hip syndrome) + getting a shot soon. Mom’s having hip surgery too. ANA+ but other labs normal, now checking for MCAS. One step at a time.

I find my journey was all about finding answers for me, I knew there weren’t really treatments before I pushed on. It all depends on how important a dx is to you.

I had an amazing dr finally get me to a cardiologist that listened after doing the poor man’s tilt table and I’m lucky a hospital relatively close was a cardiac specialty hospital & had a tilt table it just took 6 months to get into the tilt table testing schedule though + a fight with insurance.

It’s so validating and I know not a lot can be done treatment wise for my pain and these issues, but getting the dx, just getting it, means a lot in terms of validation to me.
I had a “friend” who told me I couldn’t say I thought I had POTS and hEDS because I didn’t have a dx and it gave me trauma.
