Lastly a very James Workshop inspired dwarf slayer. I’ve painted it before but tried free handing some striped pants!

Next up is a very Marika from elden ring look a likes really pleased with the dress, skin and hair in this one. Think I really achieved a fancy velvety black dress from nice material

The miniatures I painted were all things I was either close to finishing or one that was simple to just slap some paint down. First up a miniature I’m never sure will ever see a game scenario but fun to paint!

Got stoned and painted miniatures with a bud in discord this evening, good time in my opinion!

Had an idea to maybe buy some of the James Workshop LoTR miniatures and remembered why I don't. I get it, Glorfindel is probably the most powerful elf (next go Gildor and Galadriel) but I don't think that $55 dollary doos is appropriate for what could at best be called three 28mm miniatures

Agreed, same reason why the comics in newspaper should always be called the Funnies

lol it's so true. It's wild how much I notice my skills improving when I am regularly painting miniatures and experimenting versus when I am only painting once or twice a month (which is also why I try to paint at least once a week no matter what, even if it's just for 15 minutes!)

I like the logo too "You've seen a cat before right?" "Yeah totally." "Cool, draw a cat with an eyepatch and an airplane in its mouth." "You got it boss, cats noses look just like their paws, right?" "You know it!"

Last night after thinking about it, I decided I could make the armor look shinier by doing a little bit of edging (I purposefully used this term instead of edge highlighting because it makes me laugh). Now I am starting to think about painting metallic materials using non metallic paints more often

This absolutely rules, everything about it is great but I really love their helmets

Lastly another nude study (this miniature is actually finished in terms of being painted! The beauty mark on her rear was an accident but I think it looks good so I kept it there!

So stoned I decided to take fancier photos of everything I was painting this evening. Up first the aforementioned attempts at painting metal without using metal paints, I think that I’m getting there. Quite happy with gold, less so the shiny steel

Tonight’s attempt so far at non metallic metals, pre sketch and post sketch. Really fucking pleased with my gold on the hilt, still trying to have a smooth blend from dark to light on the sword without losing all my highest and lowest points
