Apparently. I began "making waves" last year during the planning phase of Kaleidoscope Youth Camp.
I called it out, because that's what the APs tell us to do, and then I was met with some BS on division and teacher sides and no accountability.
I'm unsure what they expect.
Anti trans rhetoric that divisions seem bent on supporting (whether the divisions are noticing or not is a different discussion)
I have entered the feeling crappy phase of quitting because I don't know why.
I'm sure I have made the right decision but I guess you never know until you're in the new role doing the new things.
When I pointed this out to division peeps, I basically got told that they were right and I was wrong.
Then threatened that if I continue to cause waves I will be sent to elementary.
I'm in the process of doing the same...it's hard because I feel like I'm giving up but the reality is that I am going where I think I'm needed and helping in ways where I'm not going to have to constantly justify my existence.
Something I'd like to see in school divisions are staff in positions of power exercising that power to affect real policy change and support the vulnerable students in a real way.
Students feel the sting of inaction and see it in the vanishing of visibility at higher levels.
I am leaving teaching. I accepted a position and I just need to follow my heart. I have lots of learning to do in my new role, but it will be good for my soul and for my future!!
Sask. NDP MLA says his trans children were the target of Premier Moe's proposed change room policy.
"The premier put a target on the back of my two 12-year-old kids." #SKpoli

Grateful for MLAs like JC who stand up for the most vulnerable kids in our province. It shouldn't JUST be parents of those kids taking a stand or members of the community, but it should be everyone.
The rights of queer community will always create impacts on everyone.
