Hello! My name is Bridget and I believe #curiosity is one of the most important aspects of the human experience. What I contribute to this (Bluesky) space is ever evolving but will almost always include some kind of artistic expression.
Thank you for joining me!
Growing up, I’d almost always #draw on a piece of ever abundant printer paper using a #2 pencil. Seeking an exact replica of shape, I was relying heavily on the eraser to get there. Now, I’m playing with looser lines, working more with ink, and embracing imperfections.
My goal is #ART #DAILY
Revisited the #portrait and shaped the jaw and refined the eyes a little then started a forest turned underwater scene. One of my favorite elements of #watercolor is how I can go in with a specific idea or no idea at all and what emerges can be completely different and surprising. Stay #CURIOUS!
Thank you kindly 🙂
Another #watercolor work in progress. I played with some newly acquired techniques here but have fine tuning to do (especially to the eyes.) #portraits might be my favorite to #paint because the faces emerge from out of nowhere! It’s rather eerie and endlessly fascinating to me!
Some watercolor works in progress. I’m taking things pretty tiny these days
I think so often about creativity… my relationship to it & how I can tap in, unleash & ride the waves of it. I’ve also been thinking a lot about curiosity… how it helps to unravel that which feels locked & stagnant. But also how it makes every door feel like there’s a miracle on the other side of it
Speaking of body doubling… does anyone else body double with their robot vacuum? I am much more likely to clean when my little buddy is making the rounds
Point of view: you are sitting at a wooden table in front of a window. A landscape of mountains, hills, and trees is being painted in a small spiral notebook set atop a wooden table top easel. The view out the window is also being enjoyed by a small orange cat and a larger white and gray one who both sit around the easel. A bit of the neighbors’ beige house can be see, as well as, a tree that has lost all of its Fall leaves. The day appears overcast and cool but the lighting inside is warm and inviting.
Watercolor with cats! It’s kinda like body doubling except their only task is to look cute and investigate the brushes and paint water
Nooooooooo!
Is Creative Expression Emotional Alchemy For You, Too?
Thank you! I used to draw but was always intimidated by paint until recently 🤗
CREATIVITY whether it’s writing, painting, acting, music, or cooking gives me a sense of purpose. I can feel the transformation of heavy emotions or the amplification of good ones through these various crafts. There can be a true alchemy to it. I’m not sure what I would do without ART of some kind!
Only for highlights in the eyes and making fur on a kitten! I’m BRAND new to painting
I LOVE IT
It’s a THING! (Current unfinished— and never will be— work)
I’m not sure if any of my #watercolor #paintings will ever be finished but I do like where this #portrait is headed
Just sharing some of my kitty friends and family 🥰
Thank you, Julie ☺️
Thank ya!
I enjoy #painting with #watercolor 🎨
