I'm getting secondhand stress from all the NHL social media managers that don't make decisions but have to monitor the accounts for the responses to all these bad decisions their bosses are making. "Who's your favorite female athlete" out of nowhere? Woof.

For me, it's less about the "journalists need to stay out of fandom" reaction and more that sweeping staff cuts and deprioritization of culture coverage have made it even harder for journalists to write about fandom in the complex, thorough way it deserves

But the circumstances of the industry (and editor biases) have shut out knowledgable voices. So much "fandom coverage" now feels like reinventing a very basic wheel; I feel like my and my peers' work is being actively erased. Fandom *should* be covered—but you need to know what you're talking about.

I feel like that only works when the comments are under one page, right? Like if there were 25 pages of comments you'd have to search on each one? (I've never tried it, and I should definitely start with that! But just wondering)

I wish AO3 had a feature where you could search fic comments for your own comment. I'm ALWAYS finding fics I don't remember but then I see either a bookmark or kudos that means I've already read it. I'd love to know what past-me's comment was.
