Weβre over 600 signatures, hoping to get to 1000 before the Board of Health meets Monday. You donβt need to live in Toronto to sign! #topoli #cleantheair
CAVI launched a new initiative today to expand our impact beyond public libraries. Please share!
Weβre a small team and will continue to work slowly. We hope that we can share your impact and inspire others to build on your success. To apply to partner with us, please share a few details here -> airtable.com/appqa5ftYie4...

The CAVI team is asking for your proposals and ideas to reach additional people through an expansion project across Canada. Our priorities remain the same, the sharing, learning and citizen science that has so inspired us so far. (4/5)
We have been cautious and frugal with funding from the Balvi foundation and we are in the position to expand our impact with additional CO2 monitors to distribute within Canada. As a team we wonder if our we could reach people who are unable or unlikely to access the public library programs. (3/5)
It has been a privilege to collaborate with Librarians across Canada and to learn of their shared commitment to bringing needed resources to their communities, promoting learning, innovations and public health. (2/5)
CAVI is pleased to share that our Canadian Library CO2 monitor project is now complete. CAVI and other donors have contributed over 400 high quality CO2 monitors to libraries across Canada, reaching over 30% of the Canadian population. (1/5)
Fantastic initiative!
Students & their drivers deserve a safe & healthy ride to school, including clean air to breathe!
School buses have poor air filtration & ventilation systems (air quality = bad) π
Wearing a respirator mask (N95, KN95, etc) & opening windows (when the outdoor air is safe!) can make a difference!

The Ontario government touted its efforts to improve air quality in schools during the COVID-19 pandemic. Those efforts could also limit the risk of wildfire smoke and vehicle exhaust, but thereβs scant data on what was done and if it worked. thenarwhal.ca/ontario-scho...
This study made some waves on social media yesterday. It purports to show that CO2 concentration doesnβt correlate with covid transmission.
Letβs talk about this, I have some thoughts.

Great podcast episode on a theatre in Vancouver designed for great indoor air quality. CO2 monitors are discussed as well, a clear explainer for those just learning how devices can be helpful.
If you would like to measure CO2 in the venues you visit you may be able to borrow a device at your local public library. Visit our website for participating locations. www.cavico2.com/map-of-libra...
Fantastic!
What a remarkable achievement, well done! π
In search of clean air orgs and public libraries to add to our list, please help us find our network here! π¨π₯ go.bsky.app/HreHN5C
You can borrow one for free at many Canadian libraries. π
having a library card is awesome if you arent doing this you really must
Tell everyone we have some new project ideas coming up and weβd love your continued support!
Nice segment on the value of measuring CO2 and the impact on viral transmission on CBCβs Quirks & Quarks. podcasts.apple.com/ca/podcast/q...
Act fast though! The deadline to apply to our final round of the Canadian CO2 Monitor Expansion Program is December 10th, 2023.
