I think it's less about understanding the world around you and more about how common news outlets benefit from their viewer's stress. Anxiety is a great way to make sure people keep tuning in so unless you're really good at seeing through pushed narratives it's better just to avoid all that crud.

I like pencil roughs.

Dug up this RFF Character concept for a quick doodle. The idea is she's a squid/whale fish mutant who's eyeless and relies on her husband (who's mutated to the point of almost being a normal fish) to see and help her maneuver around.

Her flotsam diet is based on her bottom feeding anatomy which is a burden she's content with bearing because the beach has never looked so clean.
