A few Summers ago, I hiked from Donner Pass up to a spot looking down on a hut on Frog Lake where I think was where that party stayed before their fateful departure. Very nice country, but those conditions were perilous this Winter.

Thanks, Jaycee. It was hard to capture the utter peacefulness of the perfect weather day along this trail, which I guess the oudated word "mellow" describes well, but some of the other pics I have of it show more of the surrounding mountains too. Maybe I'll add some of those for display later also.

I can often take part of one large brunch meal back with me, but I liked the idea of taking advantage of the variety for the takeout on these two.

Yes, there had been fire on some of the mountainsides along the Thompson Trail too, but the meadow valley survived it mostly unscarred and the whole scene was quite beautiful even so, especially in peak Fall colors!

The Thompson #Trail along the West Fork of the Black River in the White Mountains of #Arizona is somewhat of a definition of serene & peaceful. A mostly level stroll through meadows & forests, with views of nearby mountain peaks, for #ForestFriday.

My little trick was to order two meals at a #brunch spot where I couldn't choose between them, then bring home leftovers from both for later enjoyment, for #FoodOnFriday. Vegetarian chilaquiles and corn based fusili hit the spot, as my dog viewed from below, hoping for an opportunity.
