I'm begging my fellow politicians, Illinoisans, and Americans to realize that right now, we aren't fighting over policy or political party.
We're fighting over whether we're going to be a country rooted in empathy and kindness — or one rooted in cruelty and rage.
So happy to see our electeds like @micahlasher.bsky.social, @sengonzalezny.bsky.social, @marklevinenyc.bsky.social, @virginiamaloney.bsky.social and others support this great institution. Few have been patients at Bellevue Hospital so they know first hand how dedicated everyone is at the hospital.
My 2nd year attending Bellevue Hospital Legislative Breakfast & the CAB including @kevokeefe.bsky.social did a great job organizing it. Bellevue is the oldest hospital in the country & they've always taken care of the most vulnerable in the city. They provide the best care regardless of who you are.
Mayor @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social was able to get the Columbia studen released from ICE custody after taking to Trump. He knows how to deal with Trump better than anyone. @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social and @schumer.senate.gov would never have been able to do what he did. Dems need to learn from him

The #NY12 congressional forum was very well organized and moderated. @alexbores.nyc and @micahlasher.bsky.social both had great nights. @jackschlossberg.bsky.social was okay. He started off weak but ended better. He lacked specifics to a lot of the questions but was strong on his beliefs. 1/
If Maria Corina Machado thinks that giving Trump her Nobel Peace Prize will mean he'll help her then she's going to be very disappointed. Trump sees this as a weakness, extract more from her & never help her. She gave up her Peace Prize for nothing and in doing so she lost respect of a lot of people

May is my birthday month so we usually travel. This time we went to India to our 5 yr old nephew. He's the smartest and most adorable kid I've met. India in May also means it's mango season 😁
