I feel like I’ve developed learned helplessness and a fixed mindset. I feel like I have no free will, like everything will always be this way and nothing will ever change. It feels like there’s no point to doing anything but I desperately want to break this cycle and mindset.

I’m trying to dig myself out of this hole, I’m changing my main psych med, I’m trying to find a therapist who’s a good fit (which is super challenging with DPDR because most mental health professionals don’t feel equipped to work with me) but nothing seems to be working.

Anhedonia (finding little to no pleasure in one’s favorite activities) has stolen so much of my joy. I’ve completely lost the motivation to create art or engage in new hobbies. Coupled with undiagnosed/untreated inattentive ADHD and it’s so hard for me to do basically anything.

I’m reading a book called Feeling Unreal about DPDR which has been validating. Most therapists don’t know how to work with dissociative disorders. There’s only one therapist local to me who specializes in DPDR and they don’t accept insurance. If there are other folks with DPDR, I’d love to connect

It feels like all my thoughts melt into each other. I’m super detached from myself and the world around me. I can barely function when I’m in these episodes. I’ve always struggled with disassociating and maladaptive daydreaming but this is another level.

You know how when you’re high you start questioning the nature of reality and your own existence? Or start feeling out of body? Imagine that but at random and it doesn’t wear off. It feels like everything is three inches off center. You feel like you don’t recognize yourself in the mirror.

Going to be vulnerable here. I’ve been struggling for the last several months with episodes of depersonalization and derealization and closed eye hallucinations as a result of greening out back in August. It’s a really scary sensation being so detached from reality.

Federal agents are kidnapping people from their homes and murdering people in the streets. We are living in a fascist dictatorship and it feels like no one in power is doing anything to fight this.
