Been a bit quiet on here as recovering from minor operation but back to normal almost. Hard to be a book enthusiast when not allowed to pick up more than one at a time & no big ones

A the train inside of which is an addition of Moby Dick. The binding is made out of white goat leather to resemble the skin of a whale. Incised in the leather are the lines or wrinkles aroubd an eye of a whale and set into the leather binding is a glass eye that protrudes from the flat cover of the book. The effect is as if you were looking eye to eye with a whale.

Another highlight of my day was the Moby Dick book arts exhibition at the Peabody Essex Museum. My favorite was this binding by Susan and Chaim Ebanks.

Needing some light reading while recovering from recent operation I thought would give this a go. Struggling to get past first chapter but to be fair to Simon Mason might be the pain rather than the book #Books #SimonMason

COVID was in full flow when my lease ended & failed to clear the general book stock .. haunts every inch of storage I have. So hard to dump books ! Yes they are saleable but estimated having to live to about a 1000 to achieve clearance #OldBooks #Books #Bookshops
