every leftist i know is very excited about technology but unfortunately they want tech that improves society and makes people's lives easier and that's harder for wealthy prdophiles to build a trillion dollar industry bubble around
If we've learned anything from the part of our history where we created the extremely powerful, world-changing, uncontrollable new technology of a social internet, it should be that whatever is about to happen with AI will, if nothing else, be extremely dumb.
Living with me is fun because I'm a damn good cook and I'll do your statistics for you but I will fill every available surface with plants and shiny rocks, and also occasionally demand a pet capybara
Bf travels for work all the time and I just go on as normal. I travel one time and before 24 hours are up he's pierced his ears, sent me pictures of a sad-looking dog who needs a home, and the aquatic entomologist is having a hangover on our couch π
Brooke Rollins: "We've run over 1,000 simulations. It can cost around $3 a meal for a piece of chicken, a piece of broccoli, corn tortilla, and one other thing. So there is a way to do this that actually will save the average American consumer money."
I am reading an excellent work on economics in Jane Austen's novels. Some things never change.
"... politicians claimed that βlaborers and their families could be maintained on their low wages, if they gave up eating wheat bread and adopted a more Spartan diet.β (Craig 2013, in Toran 2015)
People with charming midwestern accents walked around offering hand warmers. "Hey derr, do ya need anyting? It's cold ya know." "Oh hey, noticed ya arrunt wearin' mittens. Do ya need some?" "Ya know, I hear it's gonna get warmer soon. Double digits." At the same time, screams of anger and frustration were hurled towards the hotel and the federal employees staying there. "Get the fuck out of our city." "Eat shit, pig fucker." "I hope ya jump off da roof."
the best goddamn neighbors to have
I'm trying to analyze a dataset so flawed that it's driven me to listen to the Decemberists
PLEASE contact your senators! It's super easy to do. I just messaged both of mine urging them to refuse to fund the bill and to aid in making sure no Democrat breaks ranks. You can find your Senator's contact info here:

DHS has shot 12 people during immigration enforcement operations since September #withalttext
Photos of Alex Pretti with Saraβs caption: On August 16th at approximately 10:00 pm I received a call from the ICU at the VA saying my Dad had sepsis and needed to be intubated to stay alive so Josh and I headed in. We were greeted by the kindest, most calming and warm soul who helped us understand what was happening and showed deep care for us and my Dad. He continued to show utmost patience and kindness over the next few days as my Dad remained in the ICU and we were there continually. It was Alex Pretti, the man shot today by ICE. If you see this video and don't think it's murder, I don't understand your thinking and ask you to question your heart. He was out there trying to help and protect and from the little we knew of him, it doesn't surprise me he was not afraid to be on the front lines of this horrible scene in our Minneapolis. Weeping for his family and all those at the VA who no longer get to work with him or receive his care.
My friend Sara posted this about the superb care her father received from with Alex Pretti
Absolutely heartbreaking
Theyβd better air this on the fucking news. Iβm so fucking enraged I canβt see straight
Someone told him to stay out of politics and he responds: βWhat you gonna βget backβ to? Tweeting to 38 followers? De-jumble this: ksuc ym slalbβ

ICE is now responsible for 66% of the homicides in Minneapolis this year.

Now it's stuck in your head too
Me: hahahha there's nothing on this 90s playlist I could possibly still want to hear

Well, I would like to hold my little hand

They're such sweet lovelies, they can come over for lunch whenever they like! I made soup and sandwiches!
I know I'm old because when I see some attractive new band, I think about how I'd be so proud to be their super supportive auntie
Both major parties living in daily, absolute terror that one single poor person could be elected
Block the absolute shit out of this nazi filth. Do it with an ancient curse on your lips, with black lightning coursing through your blocking finger. Or just do it the regular way. Point being: block βem.
No broccolini for the poors either
A piece of broccoli. Like, what, one floret?
One of the main things I appreciate about LA is that going anywhere, at any time, in any way, is a horrifying ordeal
I don't post a ton now, because I am nonstop busy. But it always makes me happy to see you!
