To elaborate, Meta policies states nine ways that they “promote safety, security and integrity,” but all are extremely vague, and none of them are specific to young users. We have a long way to go in this area because not only have we not improved these spaces, it’s getting worse.
While the internet was not created with young people in mind, digital spaces, including design and regulation must be made in the best interest of the children. Unfortunately, minimal attempts have been made by social media conglomerates to honour the rights of children within digital spaces.
