Reverend Jesse Jackson called on each of us to be heralds of change, to be messengers of hope; to step forward and say “Send me” wherever we have a chance to make an impact.
How fortunate we were that Jesse Jackson answered that call. What a great debt we owe to him.
I am not saying the Olympics get too much attention and praise. Understand that.
But I am definitely saying that the Paralympics don't get enough.

What's required is investment in working people — and better wages.

The US blockade of Cuba has no legal basis under international law. An island without an air force or modern artillery is not a security threat; it's a neighbour. If the United States genuinely believes otherwise, the UN Security Council exists for exactly that purpose.
