Legendary singer and songwriter Neil Sedaka crafted numerous hit songs including “Calendar Girl”, “Breaking Up Is Hard to Do” and “Where the Boys Are”. He has officially joined us at Hollywood Forever. We look forward to celebrating his life and legacy.

Happy Birthday to Adrian born on March 3, 1903. He was the head of costume design for M-G-M from 1928-1941 and designed for a galaxy of stars including Joan Crawford, Jean Harlow, Greta Garbo and Norma Shearer.
He is buried next to his wife actress Janet Gaynor at Hollywood Forever.
Jean Harlow was born Harlean Harlow Carpenter on March 3, 1911. She was the first blonde bombshell of the movies and a wonderful comic actress.

Today I got to see the 4k restoration / reconstruction of Gloria Swanson’s 1929 film QUEEN KELLY. It was at the historic Egyptian Theatre in Hollywood. I met up with Gloria’s granddaughter Brooke Anderson. She’s lovely and looks and sounds so much like her.
Turner Classic Movies: TCM has just announced more films that will be shown at the upcoming festival. One of them is the pre-code crime drama THE MOUTHPIECE (1932). It will be on 35mm. I always get really excited about seeing the more obscure films.

I know I sound like a 100 year old, but I do not trust AI as far as I can throw it. Right now I feel like it being forced on us. It keeps popping up on everything! There doesn’t seem to be a way to opt out. I keep thinking it is like HAL in 2001: A SPACE ODYSSEY and will turn on us all.
Actor Udo Kier has also recently joined us at Hollywood Forever. He appeared in over 200 films including films by Gus Van Sant and Lars Von Trier. He is perhaps best remembered for his star turns in the 1970s horror classics “Blood for Dracula” and “Flesh for Frankenstein”.

I’ve just received word today that Close-Up is being featured in another art show! This piece is by artist Audrey Kihler and it will be a fundraiser for The Cat Posse volunteer cat rescue. It will take place on February 14th from 7:00 - 11:00pm at The Snail Farm Art Collective.
