Talking of strong femalesβ¦
I was lucky when I got there and found out there was a tasting, I ran (kind of ran anyway) upstairs and with a few minutes to spare they sold me a ticket. It was a great night.
Itβs fab. Did you go upstairs to the lounge?
Skeets π
I love the piper bar, always head there when I visit Glasgow.
ππ. More alike than you imagine. I did the same, at around the same time.
Not off hand, I do have a list of sorts but assume you mean unique drams itβs 4 figures. Lockdown increased the number. significantly. I have been drinking whisky for a long time.
Yes there are a lot open, itβs a dark room and green bottlesβ¦ like you though I share a lot
That is a tough job, I like the idea of getting samples though. I have friends I share bottles with, especially the higher ticket prices.
Seriously though, where do you keep it? Iβm building a whisky wall would love to see how others arrange/store theirs. I could use a little inspiration
Well now! That has given me some suggestions for Santa, great to know and definitely something Iβll explore.
And I am running out of space
No, well not knowingly π. There are so many whiskies and so little time. I keep trying new/different distilleries
Absolutely, itβs an easy go-to even now. Always have a bottle to hand
Definitely agree with Ancnoc as an intro. It has a kind of butterscotch thing going on.
I think that novelty factor was why I bought it to be honest. Before that I would drink whatever blend my dad had in, usually JW black. My taste is much more broad now thankfully and I favour peated single malts, but I will try anything. It would be fun to have a loch dhu for nostalgia sake.
Just following instructions, honest π
Loch dhuβ¦ (donβt judge me ππ ) didnβt particularly enjoy it but that black colour was a great talking point. Wonder how much caramel colour they had to add to get to black?
Got mine, it is amazing. Thank you.
@islaywhiskyacademy.bsky.social Beyond the Barley by Rachel MacNeill. Arrived today. It is a thing of great beauty. It arrived with instructions to βenjoy with a dramβ. Who am I to argue with that?
You too.
Thank you. This is so helpful.
Iβm guessing itβs not Britannia π but then again..you never can tell.
Itβs like nothing Iβve seen before, amazing how accessible it all is, and a great food experience too. I loved the photo wall of it under construction.
I love to collect whisky pins too.
Looks as though you were at Port of Leith distillery about the same time I was there.
