Walking down to St. Clair W. for groceries this AM. The sun burned off the fog. Snow banks are melting, amaryllis & tulips for sale at the local milk & variety. Roads pitted after a hard winter. Getting out on the bike tmrw after rain cleans off the final salt layer. #toronto #streetscape #city
Excellent Toronto Star column by @shawnmicallef.bsky.social about Toronto's poor snow clearing this winter. Appreciated his linking of my post about @bikewaysto.bsky.social's volunteer bike lane clearing efforts! #BikeTO #WalkTO #TOpoli www.thestar.com/opinion/cont...
Guys, I can’t do another one. I will retire to run a bar in Malta if this happens.
When Bluesky was down today I went back to Twitter and was punched in the face by the stench of abandoned aquarium. Milo Yiannopoulos, who I honestly thought was dead, stanning Hillary Clinton. Dem flaks earnestly retweeting Nick Fuentes. It’s time to cordon off anyone left and introduce alligators.

Portable paint boxes like this one owned by Group of Seven artist Frederick Varley, which contained brushes, tools, & paint, along with wooden panels to paint on, were key to painting out in the harsh bush in Algonquin Park. They were also used by #TomThomson & the other #GroupofSeven members. #Art
Man that is really upsetting and disgusting that they did that. @thebikinglawyer.bsky.social might have good suggestions for you... Sorry that happened to you!
Bike lane abruptly ends with snowbank northbound on Yonge & Davisville and isn't even close to plowed on Winona & Ava Rd on Saturday. Particularly scary on Yonge where there seemed to be a lot of impatient drivers. #bikeTO #toronto #TOpoli
Exploring different Crosstown stops-Mount Pleasant. Walked home to Oakwood/Vaughan. Eglinton is impossibly awful to walk alongside, so dodged into the 'hood to walk on sidewalk-less streets. Safer, in a relative sense. Which is better? Snow bike or snow beetle? #walkTO #toronto #ttc #TOpoli #bikeTO
Exploring different Crosstown LRT stops - Mount Pleasant. Found flower power murals offset by the snowy streets. #walkTO #ttc #streetart #art #flowers #urban #toronto
Thank you!
This old bank building is one of the things I covered in my opening day video about Line 5, the Eglinton Crosstown LRT.

Exploring different Crosstown LRT stops - Mount Pleasant & "At Origin" coffee with fabulous mosaic works in the back & a subtle mosaic-bedecked planter installation out front. Coffee & a chocolate walnut cookie to go, to start this Saturday ramble. #walkTO #art #coffee #cafe #urban #toronto
Ascending, as though to the moon, at Mount Pleasant LRT station, exiting thru a building from 1928. The façade was disassembled, catalogued, then put back 2gether brick-by-brick, oh my! And so begins a Saturday walk in part of the city that's now easy for me to get to. #ttc #TOpoli #walkTO #urban
Cozy #winter #city #birding in Wychwood Park, a hidden gem of older homes around a pond, north of Davenport near Bathurst. Apparently you can hear coyotes howling there most evenings. Spotted various birds this time, including house finches. Warmed up later at Krave on St. Clair W. #toronto #nature
Curvilinear city hall interior. Wintry, twinkly Nathan Phillips Square of a Thursday night. Folks skating around the rink while music is playing. #toronto #architecture #winter #skating #night #urban #cityscape

Are you concerned about pedestrian deaths in your city and not sure what can be done?
Have you heard talk of Vision Zero, but people are still being killed?
The solutions are in this podcast. 👇
The only thing else needed is bravery from local politicians.

Great evening being inspired by stories out of NYC, bringing safer streets & active transportation infrastructure to what was previously a dangerous road. Thank you @joshmatlow.bsky.social & @anotherglassbox.bsky.social for making it happen, & in city hall chambers no less! #bikeTO #TOpoli #walkTO
Looks like there are a few tickets left for a screening of Changing Lanes, followed by a discussion, at City Hall this Thursday, 6:30-9 pm. Learned about this through Josh Matlow's newsletter. #bikeTO #toronto

Common sight on my street where there is a lot of snow that gets plowed onto the sidewalk off the road, making much of the sidewalk impassable. With a school at one end of the street, and a daycare at the other, this is unfortunately very unsafe!
“Let's all be patient and allow the city crews to do their work," Mihevc said. "Frankly, this is Canada. This is the way it is in this country. We're a snow country.” dude, it's been 3 weeks stfd

Midtown winter ramble. Natural ice skating rink at Wychwood Barns. Alley to a little library, followed by alley north to St. Clair West. And #vikingbiking down the hill to Davenport. #walkTO #bikeTO #skating #winter #alleyways
Was curious to inspect the Winona bike lanes today. A sizeable section from Hursting to St. Clair West is completely compacted with plowed snowbanks. North of Hursting to Vaughan Rd is clear, thankfully. #bikeTO #TOpoli #toronto
Winter sun on a midtown morning here in #toronto. Sat on the back steps while drinking coffee since it's not bracingly cold today. #winter #sun #morning
Three week after the big snowstorm & there are still some bike lanes that were blocked including parts of Bloor in Koreatown! Today, I helped Albert & @bikewaysto.bsky.social clear the bike lane before doing errands in the area. #BikeTO #TOpoli #VikingBiking www.twowheeledpolitics.ca/2026/02/tcbc...
Took the #ttc Eglinton Crosstown over to Yonge & south to St. Lawrence Market this morning, stopping at Dineen on Yonge for coffee. Much more efficient than other routes, & I got to see the impressive glass mosaic in Eglinton station. North market at St. Lawrence was hopping! #toronto #art #urbanism
I was wondering the same thing! I got a notice from 311 that the work is complete, but I have to doubt that it actually is... seems like they like to come by and inspect, then for some reason conclude that the job is not do-able.
Big job! Can't believe the city still hasn't gotten to that stretch, wow!
