Solidarity.
Solidarity.
And just to be extra, crystal clear: of course Canadians should stand in solidarity with Australians in the wake of this massacre. And of course Canadian Jews will mourn for members of their tribe. I just don't think it's useful to suggest there would be a threat to Canadians today.
Respectfully disagree. Suggesting that there might be concerns for Canadian Jews would just raise unnecessary fears. Can you point to even one case of antisemitic terror that was carried out across multiple countries? This is a horrific tragedy, but nothing to do with Canada.
Disabled people were one of the first groups targeted by the Nazis.
They coined the term βuseless eatersβ.
They tested the gas chambers on us.
They knew most people wouldnβt fight to save our lives.
Thatβs why the President using the R slur is so dangerous.
Weβre not expendable
My school is right downtown (Dundas/Beverley), and the board just announced they are blocking grade 9 admissions for next year. Valuable land indeed.
now that women have ruined the workplace we should just get rid of it
@anotherglassbox.bsky.social is in fact a civic treasure, and I'm a bit curious if he consented to you using him as an endorsement?
Perfection. and @michaelhobbes.bsky.social needs to see this.
Do you genuinely think it's her MS that makes her cheer for Palestinian blood, and love Charlie Kirk?
Spoiler alert: SMG (and husband Freddie Prinze Jr) are Republicans. As a "millennial of a certain age", it is indeed devastating.
It's actually antisemitic to equate the state of Israel with Jews. So.
Do you mean that many Lebanese people are anti-Israel? Because Israel has a fun hobby of bombing them and annexing their territory?
I would love to read more about this! Any tips?
FYI, Canadian here: we have "state controlled liquor system", and it's fine. The stores are literally everywhere, and provide great, unionized jobs for lots of folks. I swear Americans are desperate to believe everywhere else has got it all wrong...
Because I'm a teacher, and teachers get it: being in a classroom with kids is *everything*. Heart-filling stuff.
Teaching is the best job in the world. I'm happy you're listening to your heart: a bunch of kids have no idea yet how lucky they are about to get.
She is THE WORST.
This list is full of Free Palestine people, and almost zero (JD Vance makes an appearance) actual antisemites like all the rightwing nazi boys.
I cannot say enough about Smologies, the shorter, kid-friendly version of Ologies. Every episode is a deep dive into a topic, like otters or dreams or moss. Itβs amazing.
βJust bonkersβ: Students walk out to protest TDSB decision to halt admissions to special needs school
I don't have the reach here that I had in The Other Place, but the TDSB is moving towards shutting down Heydon Park, the board's only school for girls (inclusive of Trans and non-binary) with special education needs. This place saves lives. Please sign the petition.

I will admit that I am lacking context on Lorenz: doesn't she just write thinkpieces about tech and culture? Is there reason to believe she's arguing what you say she's arguing? Because the plain meaning of her words feels indisputable, but I get that you are reading in some extra context?
It's just an attempt to understand geopolitical context.
I don't know if you're actually willing to engage on this, but your take is lacking some serious critical thinking. She made a very factual statement that 9/11 did not come out of nowhere: it was the result of decades of US foreign policy decimating the Middle East. That's not a stamp of approval.
Racist pos says racist pos shit. So edgy.
Genuinely curious (there's no way to ask this without sounding judgy): how do you explain to students the ethical and environmental implications of their AI explorations? How do YOU square those implications for yourself?
There was an old tweet that stuck with me: "If you can easily walk to the coffee shop but your barista has a one hour commute, you don't live in a walkable 15 minute city; you live in a theme park"
$85 cleaning fee
How on earth does Norm keep getting done so dirty?? He is a gem of a person, and would be such a great MP.
Every single human is valuable, not based on what they produce or what taxes they do or do not pay.
My disabled friends and students and neighbours have rich, beautiful lives. They need more systemic support, not whatever this OP is doing.
