Oh, awesome! That post was really popular, I'm glad I was able to encourage to search deeper. Even when the music's bad - and that's FAR too often haha - it's always interesting with TD. I'd never have even conceived of an album so tasteless and uninspired as Turn of the Tides otherwise!

I'm really enjoying these. I've given a huge chunk of the TD discog a review on Discogs and RYM, but these deep dives are always enjoyable. TDI and Eastgate "live" albums and compilations are always such a headfuck, knowing what's what - and what the point is, at times.

The worst thing about getting better at music is getting better at being able to replicate others' sounds. My first album was me 100% channelling my influences and, because I had no idea what I was doing, ending up absolutely nothing like them in the slightest. I miss those days.

I remember when Underworld's live album Everything, Everything came out, a Radio 1 DJ announced it as an unconventional way of doing a best of, and I was taken by that until I realised it was just, y'know, a live album.

Correction: I've found five or six labels who seem absolutely perfect, and none of them replied to emails.

It's nearly two years since I completed a trancey hyperpop-ish fucking weird album and I'm yet to find a single label that is remotely appropriate for it. It's the best thing I've ever made and I'm going out of my mind not releasing it.
