He was hired for his stirling work at Brentford where the objective was to get them into the top half of the Premiership every season. He bough that same uninspired mentality to Spurs. Ironically Brentford seem to be doing better without him!

I don`t even think it`s about money any more. Even if we offered a fee & wages similar or better than City, what decent players want to come to a club that`s 14th in the table, play unattractive football and get booed by their own fans every home game!

We desperately need a front 3 player who knows where the net is and a creative midfield passer who can provide the front players with some service...Recruitment dept: "I know lets sell our leading scorer from last season and buy two left backs"

Remember going to WHL for one of Modric`s first games (think maybe against Villa?) and being pretty underwhelmed, some nice touches but knocked off the ball easily and found it hard to adapt to the pace ......he turned out OK!

The obsession with transfers is absolutely crazy. Spawned by unscrupulous journalists like Ornstein & FR who are being paid by agents & in some cases clubs and their (& their imitators) every post is lapped up by the transfer shaggers

Agree with this, at the end of the day, he`s a gooner and we don`t want him if he doesn`t want to come, but the club have been made to look very silly again. It seems we are only good at transfers conducted under the radar, if every aspect & detail is all over the media, we get screwed.
100% this...he was only on the pitch for 15 mins FFS, wasn`t great but "he`s rubbish and we shouldn`t have bought him" then fuels the ignorants to go further. Social media and football fans, a toxic combination
It really is unreal! ....we won a trophy a few weeks ago, just beaten Woolwich in pre-season yet fans come on here whining about a player who hasn`t even kicked a ball for us yet. You wonder what enjoyment they actually get from supporting?
