I feel the same, but IIRC Trump himself babbled something akin to this within the last week or so. They clearly want to do something. Even if they can’t actually make it so.

And we’ll do it again.

On the other hand, if this is what they say they’re gonna do, what are they actually gonna do? It seems odd that they’d start broadcasting this if they really had nothing up their sleeves.

Note that I think their actual plan will be spectacularly stupid.

For the first ~ 2 decades of the 21st century, mass protests were systematically defanged by city governments and law enforcement, and they attracted no media attention. So were largely pointless.

That is now not the case. And leftists should stop leaving tools in the toolbox.

Part of the problem is that a certain subset of activists don’t think public protest is a legitimate mode of dissent. Which is silly and incorrect, but also you can sort of see how they got there.

As far as I can see, what’s happening is that we are entering an entirely new era of protest, one that makes “smashed a Starbucks window” look quaint. The new era needs new tactics, and thus new OpSec.

I was on a jury where body cam footage was part of the evidence. On the one hand, it clearly didn’t prevent anything. However, it did provide visuals of what actually happened. Without it, it would be the cops saying “this Black man is bad” and the white suburbanites jury members nodding along.

I make well over the median income for my county and we are talking about doing beans and rice at least one night per week.

Especially cilantro, which at least in my area they practically pay you to take away from the grocery store. (SoCal)

There’s a reason we didn’t invent drinking straight glasses of milk and eating ice cream on a mass level until pasteurization. And that most dairy products before that were cultured in some way.

At this stage in the race (such as it is 2 years out), “is running for president” does not equal “will be president”.

Newsom is the governor of California. California press outlets are going to cover him. That doesn’t make him the Democratic nominee.

Cool, a lame duck state governor with zero chance of being elected president just issued a press release detailing why he will never be elected president.

I read somewhere that that ad aired during Monday Night Football during the campaign. I’m now starting to feel like the typical American will believe literally anything in a commercial that airs during a football game.

This! People think Newsom must be ultra-progressive because he’s the governor of CA, or that he will be highly electable because 40 million Californian can’t be wrong.

But they haven’t won yet. In fact, the events of the last year have made it clear that they’re wrong and largely irrelevant.
