I wouldnโt otherwise care, itโs kind of unavoidable when the story needs to branch this much, except it makes mysteries and intrigue less mysterious and intriguing when explanations donโt have to really make sense.
(Spoilers, my specific complaints rn are about the Retsnom route. The stuff with the Old Man and the location in the books and whatever doesnโt really make sense, and even if it does later Takumi should 100% care it doesnโt make sense to *him*. And also, he should really care thereโs another human!)
Like, the writers will just write themselves into corners and then make up a nonsense fix, or write in a device to drive the plot in a certain direction without working through how that should affect the story, and how the characters should react.
The plot construction in Hundred Line is all fucked up
Relatedly, every aspect of the 100 days 100 endings gimmick is seamfull
Still really enjoying it but it takes away from that sort of THH-like atmosphere it otherwise has, of the truth about the world being hidden to an almost unfair degree
Like, I should be able to mourn the version of the characters from the end of this journey upon beginning part 2, but (with a few notable exceptions) theyโre basically the same as they started, just knowing fewer things
I see the vision there, but the first half could have had an interesting story with characters that have real arcs and still been tragic or intentionally narratively unsatisfying or whatever. Do a Chinatown thing where everything falls apart at the very end. Instead it just feels kinda flat.
Itโs kind of unforgivable how long it takes hundred line to get good but it has now Gotten Good

Was that really an issue of the LLM being Misaligned in the sense Alignment People meant it in 2014? I don't really think so, although I could imagine an argument that it is. At the very least, it doesn't look like the kinds of "overly-literal genie" style scenarios that was how the issue was framed
huh, apparently very few of the brightline deaths (only 24 as of this article) are people in cars being dumb

I think it's strictly rational for any individual political or media elite to stay on X in the same way it's strictly rational not to join any collective action.
But, it's an enormous failure of the entire progressive media and organizing world that they're still collectively on a neo-Nazi website.

There's still a lack of cohesion to it, I noticed also on BGF (kind of skipped O Monolith, I'll have to go back to it at some point)
a lot of their songs have direct literary inspirations and it leaves the album feeling a little more like a curated exhibit than a single narrative (compare Hellfire)
