Is Vinai actually on here?
Is Vinai actually on here?
I watch more “neutral” Bundesliga than any other league because I find the football most enjoyable. With La Liga & Serie A, it depends more on the matchup, but I watch both leagues more than (non-Spurs) PL. And I watch Spurs loanees whenever I can.
Awful to see their 15 hours/week of diving practice pay off with such a gullible ref. And disgusting that a side which has made gameplan of turning corners into MMA (and often getting away with it) also gets rewarded for flopping at every brush of contact (or near-contact) in open play.
Doesn’t look like the middle of the pitch will be vacated with our five 8s setup! Four strikers on the bench, but no Kinsky or Byfield. COYS!!!
Tynan rested for Sunday…? Rowswell and Olusesi also?
I continue to believe that buying Gallagher, at that fee and wage, to be forced into a position of needing to sell Sarr, was a very bad piece of business.
I don’t think anyone would accuse the Athletic of going easy on Frank, but I think the general sports/football media has been weirdly in his corner considering the unmitigated failure his time at Spurs was. This season has been worse on every level than last season under a manager who got zero grace
Sometimes Artificial Intelligence and Human Ignorance can be difficult to distinguish?
* …and Ash, both because I don’t know what more he has to prove in EFC and because of Stoke’s shabby treatment of Donley in first half of season
Saw that in match report. Sounds like they’re both settling in well. Considering our squad situation, it’s kind of outrageous that we didn’t recall a couple of older academy guys, especially with sending several more out in January. Devine & Yang would certainly provide some helpful depth.
Hopefully Jamie, Will and Ash can join them in R16 so we have decent FA Cup representation
Great job, Profspur! It all rings true, both on and off the pitch. And it also makes the reports that Vinai and Lange continue(d) to support him all the more frightening as we look forward.
Haven’t listened yet, but the title alone… 👏🏻
It has only just occurred to me that I can start watching pressers again! I’ve missed them. I can’t wait to see someone at the mic *not* telling us how bad last season was, how unsupportive supporters are, how good bad performances were, and how arsenal is the model to which we should aspire (🤮)!
Gallagher being one of our highest earners still doesn’t sit right with me. I’m unconvinced he’s in a healthy best XI, and while Lange asserts we didn’t want to make short-term panic buys, it’s annoying that they would instead go for a purely opportunistic purchase in a position of surplus.
Oh, I was agreeing with you! The hierarchy let everyone who cares about the club down. Yet again.
In the players’ defense, it was horrible for the rest of us too. Frank was so obviously wrong from the very start, truly alarming that it took this long for club hierarchy to sort that
Surely there aren’t still such people, at least among supporters? (I totally get why people who hate Spurs are Frank-In)
Abysmal. Hard to watch as a Spurs supporter, can’t imagine why any neutral would willingly suffer through this. Newcastle don’t look good at all, just significantly better than Spurs.
That was as much of a dive as the one for which Pape got a yellow card. Pathetic. So of course it results in a goal. 😡
When I saw Jay on the roster, I decided against it. His agenda against Romero is revolting. I’ve listened to VftL twice a week for years, but I’ll be skipping eps with JH for the foreseeable future. I enjoy Jack, Dan, Seb, Elias, and of course miss CE. Maw has gone off the rails.
Nope. That’s all of his reds, 4 in 4.5 seasons. Only two straight reds in 4.5 seasons. Both incorrectly given by the same incompetent ref. Both follow-through from (a) playing the ball and (b) attempting to play the ball. The ridiculous 2xyellow against Liverpool IS counted, plus one in 2023 v City.
They just refuse to let common sense to play any role in VAR decisions #BinVARnow
Further, I did not think the first 30’ was anything special yesterday. I didn’t like the approach or lineup, and I didn’t feel confident we were getting anything out of the match even at 11v11
I don’t think we dominate any matches, whether ahead, level or behind, at least per what I understand that to mean. At our best, we press like madmen and win the ball high a lot. Maybe that counts as “dominating” for short stretches of time. But I don’t feel we’re ever in control of anything.
The whole Romero narrative is ridiculous. He’s just not given the respect he deserves for what he’s done in his career (and the best CB in the world per Messi!). It’s lazy and uninformed.
That’s absolutely crazy over the span of 4.5 years trying to creative this narrative
So if that’s all reds, that means two straight reds, both from Oliver, both from follow-throughs rather than tackles (neither a red IMO). Two from double-yellow, neither of which involved him even committing a foul. So the other 2nd yellow would’ve been v City trying to win the ball high v Haaland?
Hal, is that straight reds or including 2 yellows?
To be fair, Frankball brings out the worst (or the least) in most of the squad
