Kneejerk AI hype. I doubt Suleyman even knows what "most white collar tasks" are. He appears to be thinking about coding tasks--his world. It also has the potential to introduce errors that require human assistance for debugging and rework.

Trump can only revoke the political finding, not the scientific one.

He can revoke he political finding but not the scientific one.

I cannot imagine a Democratic president saying and doing what Trump does--handing out government funds to states whose populations he sees as supporting him. Nor can Republicans. So they have little incentive to push back against it. They do not expect what goes around to come around.
I agree, and I see that as a side-effect of embodied intelligence. All our concepts ground out in associations with bodily experiences. We see ourselves everywhere and in everything.
Animal intelligence depends on an ability to model future events in order to survive in chaotic environments. Primates know what cups are for, so it would surprise me if they could not imagine the existence of cups.
There is no question that Chomsky had a profound effect on linguistic theory, and that needs to be addressed on its own merits. I agree that he dragged people into unproductive intradisciplinary battles. The field still struggles to recover from those.
I think Chomsky has made mistakes in his moral choices, his activism, and his scholarship. But I would criticize those three aspects of his life for very different reasons.
I don't think we should let our feelings about Chomsky's moral choices cloud our judgement about his linguistics. I happen to disagree with both, but for different reasons.
These are largely suppliers of AI technologies and self-styled visionaries, not those with expertise in demand for solutions. So far, business leaders seem to see these programs as helping them to control labor costs rather than actually improving what they can sell.
Springsteen pays Trump back for unauthorized use of his songs at campaign rallies.

No, generative grammars are about calculating well-formedness judgments. Chomsky never claimed to have a comprehensive theory of linguistic performance. So not all psychologically significant sequences of words need to be constituents in the sense of classical phrase structure theory.
Thank you! That's exactly what I needed to better understand what points the authors were trying to make.
I do not have access to the study mentioned here. Can anyone shed light on what the researchers mean by "long held theory"? There are a lot of long held theories of grammar out there.

Unfortunately, most Republicans in Congress seem more willing to see the end of the NATO alliance than come out openly in defiance of Donald Trump. Who is crazier? A rogue president or those willing to let him go rogue?

Brilliant! If he can't have his way, he'll make Americans pay even higher import taxes. This is why all those people voted for him, isn't it?

These images are important to the Trump regime, because the whole point of these ICE surges to blue states and cities is to intimidate and terrify people who might openly oppose their presence in their communities.
New details about the death of Good have emerged. She was alive and unattended until Minneapolis Fire Emergency Medical Services could reach her. ICE prevented a doctor from examining her at the scene earlier.

The rubber stamp Republican-controlled Senate has actually endorsed Trump's unprovoked use of military force against Venezuela. Too cowardly to declare a state of war, but happy to look the other way while Trump uses our government to threaten war around the world.

Even Trump's negotiator cannot believe that Ukraine would attack Putin's house during the middle of peace negotiations. Negotiations during which Russia itself is attacking Ukraine non-stop. It isn't Ukraine trying to torpedo the negotiations. #Ukraine

A concise description of Trump's progress in the first year of his second term. Only three more years to go. The third of the public who still give him a high approval rating are delighted, especially the corporate oligarchs among them.
Where did they suddenly find all those files? Next to the copy machine? Does this mean that Congress should delay its contempt proceeding against Bondi? Not noticing a million files until after the deadline sounds like grounds for impeachment.
MUST WATCH
Mockler: He said he grabbed women because they let him do it. You heard that clip, right? Abuse of power dynamics. Now that he's in office, he's abusing these same power dynamics to cover up the files, delay the releases, redact.
What Trump did not mention is that the hostile takeover bid by Paramount is backed by his son-in-law, Jared Kushner. That's a really nice multi-billion dollar deal, Netflix. Be ashamed if something happened to it. Kushner's daddy-in-law is here to help.

Venezuelan navy now escorting ships that Trump threatened to blockade. Wars tend to grab headlines.
Should we feel sorry for Glasheen? Defending the absurd is a tough job, but he willingly takes on that task to keep his job. Thompson served him his ass on a platter.
Raskin's idea makes sense, but it won't go anywhere with this Congress and President. But Republicans know how gerrymandering backfired on Democrats in New York. Their gerrymander power grabs in red states could backfire as easily.

Is Trump being played by Putin, or is he just playing along with Putin? I can't tell the difference.
Trump once bought casinos, because he thought the house always won. He found that they were not an idiot-proof investment and went through six bankruptcies. He has chosen to blame Democrats for his current economic failures from a casino. I guess he feels lucky.
