I'm a professor at the flagship university for the fourth whitest state in the US. Over 80% of our students are white.
The biggest barrier to access here is that due to lack of state funding, we have top 10 highest tuition per capita of public unis in the country.
We also have a food pantry.
If you do basic needs work in higher education, you quickly come to realize how fucked the fundamentals of the economy are... particularly for young adults

Nearly nothing makes me roll my eyes more than an academic listing their annual accomplishments. Buuuut I am 37 weeks pregnant, in “early labor,” and still exercising, teaching, nesting, and moving projects forward. Pregnant people are amazing. Cis men could NEVER.

What's that line about staying neutral itself being a position? That stance, and moreso complying, may destroy higher ed more thoroughly than the federal administration. Also: our students are watching.
