i pray they find this shooter because the idea of him being on the loose with major rallies planned today is absolutely horrifying

I've been documenting movements for nearly 20 years & marching w/them for another 10 on top of that. There's a very narrow window of what pundits/politicians think is "acceptable" & it's usually based on an unattainable myth bc the truth is - a lot of them don't want any kind of activism at all.
“This is not our fight” is a naive position that reveals small-minded, homogenizing ideas of Black people as a whole, as well as Black history. Nearly every fight has been a Black fight because of internal diversity and because we don't have the luxury of not being targeted in every way possible.
