Two babies fresh out of the wrapper this morning, the cow on the right is so
Maternal, she wants the other one and was giving all the signs of ‘don’t come close to my calf’ you really do need your wits about you.

Gypsum to change the ca/mg ratio and flocculate is miraculous
@sheenahorner.bsky.social ….. something for ofc to look at - this will
Change supply and demand globally.
My pen and ink illustrations of various plants.
Pen and ink illustrations I have done, depicting a miscellany of botanical curiosities.
Every time I look at my crops this year I have to give myself a talking to and remind myself it is a lot better than this time last year.
Just had a look at twitter…. Jeez….
Copy to food production….
Worryingly the minister didn’t even go as far as my prediction. Contract fairness was cited, much of the work on dairy had been done pre election. It failed to acknowledge that a contract can be fair but priced below cost of production- and not profitable 😕 a grim day from Westminster
More warm words and recycled content from The SoS at #ofc25. Not a lot to show in terms of thinking for the years in opposition.
A plea
For collaboration doesn’t go far off the back of broken promises.
A reminder that Los Angeles had its hottest summer in history last year. Southern California has received just 2% of "normal" rainfall during the current "rainy" season.
These fires are a direct result of a warming & drying atmosphere caused by burning fossil fuels.
We are in a climate emergency.
My view of downtown LA right now. Never seen anything like this. Can’t even begin to process the scale of the devastation here.
Also… peace dividends, it’s been awesome, time is running out. Food security matters
My prediction for ministerial speech at OFC: warm words, we want the supply chain to pay farmers more and charge customers less, more regulation, zero policy to inspire confidence or investment….
Be glad for dry feet for a couple of days in Oxford. We can commiserate over chips!
30mm of rain and flooded out again 60acres under water and a 4 mile drive between farms becomes an 8 mile drive as we have also lost the road out of this village and the next one along the valley.
Golden hour
Merry Christmas friends.
Happy solstice x
The Hay Barn is Christmas ready to welcome guests for the next fortnight. They were our first ever guests and come back to us every year spring and Christmas. We love them!
Last few spuds of the year, looking forward to spring already
Another grey old day… in stark contrast to yesterday. A bit more sun would lift a lot of spirits just now
The Kitchen Table newsletter will drop this evening

I have had two lots of gigaset voip phones and both have died. I have given up and diverted the landline to my mobile. Maybe not ideal in your case!
Enjoy this glorious take on ‘The Night Before Christmas’ m.youtube.com/watch?v=CdP2...
IncrediBULL artistry (sorry)
Standing Desk…. What took me so long? Game changer for the back and posture
Another wonderfully vague statement. Change isn’t the aim - change should get to an outcome. We are yet to work out what the government sees as priority for agriculture. They certainly haven’t been explicit. So can anyone tell me ‘the plan’?
Someone was telling me about your ancient grain project, would love to see some posts on here about it
Finally reaching the point of the kids doing better Christmas decorations and organising than me. It’s time to take a back seat and let them craft what they want. Strange the magic going but lovely to see them expressing themselves.
