The enemies only persist in the room they spawn in anyway, so they despawn as soon as you leave the room
I make all my games in GameMaker Studio :)
Thanks :D no way to kill it at the mo so you just have to dodge, but was thinking about maybe adding a zone you can bring it to that kills it (or adding an item that lets you kill ghosts, something like Dark Souls I suppose)

i'm not much of an artist btw this is all "programmer art"
Both games aim for "pixel" sizes of 4x4 (in other words I draw them and then scale them up by a factor of 4 in game).
It helps me draw sprites faster and also gives it a nice chunky look, but it also restricts the amount of detail sprites can show.
I love looking back at my old games and seeing how much better I've gotten at both game development and pixel art.
For example, here's two "zombie" themed levels I've made, one from my first ever finished game from 2014 and one from my new game which I started fairly recently! #pixelart
