Police body cam footage shows DOGE knew Institute of Peace was private property during raid
Footage obtained by The Handbasket’s lawsuit shows a hostile takeover on March 17, 2025.
The footage shows that at one point an MPD officer asks Jackson and the DOGE lawyer if the USIP building is owned by the General Services Administration (which typically deals with the federal government’s real estate). “It’s a private building, and that’s why we need MPD,” Jackson says.

SCOOP — Body camera footage obtained as a result of my lawsuit against the DC Metropolitan PD confirms DOGE and the Trump administration openly admitted they were entering private property when they raided the building on March 17, 2025. That didn't stop MPD from breaking down the doors.

My favorite paper I ever wrote in undergrad was about the Treaty of Sevres and why there's no country of Kurdistan. Still relevant.

Russia is providing Iran intelligence to target U.S. forces, officials say
The targeting information has included the locations of American warships and aircraft in the Middle East, the officials said.
Exclusive: Russia is providing Iran with targeting information to attack American forces in the Middle East, the first indication that another major U.S. adversary is participating — even indirectly — in the war.

bsky.app/profile/anja... double-tap strikes, regardless of the target, are usually understood to be Geneva Convention violations because they target the wounded and aid personnel who are specifically protected under international law. The target here makes this an especially staggering evil.

Huh. I forgot about the Swiss army knife in my carryon in 2002 and the hand search in Paris (no scanner for some reason) didn't find it either.

I would prefer not to be a citizen of a rogue murder state that scoffs at international law, world opinion, our own constitution, and the basic norms of military engagement. I don’t feel like that’s such a huge ask.

you probably need to add a starter pack or two of non-American experts or journalists. My feed is US-war-in-Iran-heavy, but not just that lens.

After Trump's "Operation Midnight Hammer" (no, really), he said Iran's nuclear enrichment capabilities had been "completely and totally obliterated" and therefore Iran's nuclear programme had been set back "by decades."
That was 248 days ago.

WASHINGTON, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Pentagon chief Pete Hegseth and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Dan Caine are monitoring the U.S. operation in Iran from President Donald Trump's Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida, where Trump is currently located, a person familiar with the matter told Reuters.

CNN is saying the Iranian attack happened after Trump “lost patience with negotiations”.
I don’t believe it. The negotiations were cover. This was always the plan. The scale of the military buildup showed that.

In the past, sometimes presidents have said it’s just a military operation or limited airstrikes to skirt Congress. Trump has unilaterally launched major combat operations, declaring war with the goal of regime change. A major violation of the U.S. Constitution, also illegal under international law

I’m not watching that video st 3am but I don’t need to see it know this is a grave violation of US and international law. From my area of study I can tell you that it’s easy to think the UN Charter doesn’t mean much, but we want to live in a world that values its prohibition on aggressive warfare
