The second earthquake generates a weak response in Cascadia, but a very strong one along the Northern San Andreas. This second event adds a second layer to the "double decker" turbidite, shown in the CT images.
This shows how a Cascadia earthquake triggers turbidity currents in southern Cascadia (strong), and also along the northern San Andreas (weak). The CT images of cores are shown after this event.
Here is an animation of the sequence of Cascadia and northern San Andreas earthquakes that have apparently occurred in closely spaced pairs over the past several thousand years.

A photo of the front cover of issue 1641 of Private Eye magazine with the caption "ON SHELVES NOW!" The headline reads "DONALD TRUMP: AN APOLOGY." The cover features a mock statement claiming that, in contrast to past descriptions of Trump as "a sleazy, deranged, orange-faced man-baby," the magazine now recognises him as "a political colossus, the voice of sanity, a champion of liberty, and the saviour of the Western world." The parody humorously describes him as "slim, handsome, and young," concluding with a note that "this statement has not been fact-checked."
Donald Trump. An Apology.

Another hard lesson... This 7.3 earthquake in Vanuatu caused partial collapse of the US embassy. Β Unclear how many were lost at this point.Β Β A better plan based on knowledge of the building may be to evacuate on first warning if you are on a bottom floor. See: temblor.net/earthquake-i...

Well, no not really. It adds a small about of stress to Cascadia, but that is happening every day anyway. It tells is the system is running normally, and is a good reminder to keep those preps going for the bigger one.
7.0 earthquake on the mendocino fault today. Strike slip, so no tsunami, warnings have been taken down.
