So it's a little over six months since *gestures at everything* but I go to bed tonight with my weight at what I think is a TWENTY-YEAR LOW. It's a mark of how I was sitting on a health time bomb for so long, but also how much I've achieved in those six months. Much more to do, but much done!

I think that's been the biggest problem, we've had him playing all kinds of different roles in multiple positions, and he's mastered none of them. If this role works for him, hopefully he can build on today.

Yeah, I think everyone's noticed that the Championship being a basket case of a division is spreading to L1. And they are looking for a Lauren Jones figure to handle the whole side of data including recruitment, they just haven't found the right candidate yet.
I'd guess it's just the recruitment, but that's a guess... In terms of smarter, we're hamstrung a little by not having a head of data yet who can analyse potential new markets, but I think the idea is to spend the same total on better players, so have a smaller but better quality squad overall.
I don't know if that includes paying up Lowe's contract, but I can tell you that after the summer window, 20 clubs in L1 have collectively shat themselves (ourselves included) and are now looking to get a grip on costs in the division as a whole.
Basically, they underestimated how much other clubs were willing to stump up, and more clubs outspent us than expected. So they thought we'd be on the Top 6 in terms of wages, but we only ended up 10th.
