When’s the last time you wrote several well organized paragraphs by hand? I think most of my generation learned to write complex sentences with a typing tool. Guessing the same applies to our students.
Universities should invest in a non-proprietary bluebook exam tools that facilitate writing and critical thinking assessment in the classroom. The faculty should not have to engineer clever ways to beat back the AI creep. There are simple solutions. The faculty just lack the resources.
