Anyone who’s done pro-impeachment activism (in either Trump term) knows the most common response boils down to: “Yes, sadly, he‘s a fascist, but we can’t deal with him yet.” That denial often shatters on contact with the actual madness of fascism, and I hear a lot of cracking sounds now.
The choice to sit out the impeachment fight comes from a place of shelteredness, not savvy, and that bubble may not hold much longer. I think there’s a good chance mainstream left-liberals will sound like @citizensimpeachment.com by May.

I think people who publicly "oppose Trump" but never actually push for impeachment tend to imagine there's some limit to how much damage he can do. This feels like the first time since the start of COVID where they're going, "Uhh wait..."
