We finally arrived to the wadi north of Ouadane, Mauritania on Monday evening. It took a lot of effort but we finally dug out the three northern Mauritanian WP specialities - African Grey Woodpecker, Blue-naped Mousebird and Golden Nightjar.

Maybe Nationwide or RTE News will be joining us seawatching this year!
Haha thanks very much Declan! It was great to be given the chance!

Algerian Nuthatch
South Polar Skua
Caspian Tit
Yellow-crowned Night Heron
My first post on Bluesky. Some of the better birds Iโve seen in Ireland and the Western Palearctic this year. I have big plans to target some more very rare species in the WP next year. Algerian Nuthatch, South Polar Skua, Caspian Tit and Yellow-crowned Night Heron pics attached.
