Thank you Emmanuel Macron for organising a call with G7 partners to discuss a coordinated response to the concerning situation in Iran and the Middle East.
We are focused on minimising the impact on security and the global energy market.
Pleased to speak with @economist.com for this excellent discussion of Iran's threat to the Strait of Hormuz

(AXIOS) - President Trump told Axios in a brief phone interview Wednesday that the war with Iran will end "soon" because there is "practically nothing left to target."

Nuclear is not a good option from a security perspective. For climate security it is too slow to be constructed. For national security it presents an enemy with options to weaponise it, through blackmail or reactor containment strikes aimed at releasing radiation and forcing mass evacuations.

A majority of EU Parliament rejected our solutions to the housing crisis:
1️⃣End housing speculation
2️⃣Invest in public, green, affordable homes
3️⃣End homelessness by 2030
4️⃣Stop short-term rentals driving rents up
5️⃣Make renovations accessible
We fight for a EU where everyone has a safe, affordable home✊

De interés el texto, aunque haya cosas que no se compartan y se obvie que sería necesario que el grueso de la financiación venga de nuevas fuentes comunitarias o eurobonos.
Amid an intense backlash led by Spain, Ursula von der Leyen goes on the record to clarify where she stands on the rules-based order.

In the spirit of my weekend updates on the Russo-Ukraine War, I will aim to produce a free midweek update on the US/Israeli attack on Iran (which hopefully will not go on much longer). Here is the first. Watch for splits between the US and Israel. open.substack.com/pub/phillips...

NEW: Before the Iran War, Trump ignored warnings that Iran could retaliate across the region and stop oil shipments. Now, with energy markets in chaos, some aides are pessimistic about the lack of a strategy to end the war. But they haven't told Trump. Gift link: www.nytimes.com/2026/03/10/u...

"Our unwavering commitment to pursuit of peace, principles of the UN Charter and to international law are as central today as they were at our creation. We will always uphold these principles"
I was in a 2 hour briefing today on the Iran War. All the briefings are closed, because Trump can't defend this war in public.
I obviously can't disclose classified info, but you deserve to know how incoherent and incomplete these war plans are.

An orange line-art illustration on a textured white background. The illustration depicts a hand holding a power cable that morphs into a lightbulb outline. Inside the lightbulb, a small plant with two leaves grows from the wire. The plug of the cable features the European Union’s circle of stars. To the right, the text reads: "European energy: built for the planet, priced for the people." The logo of the European Commission is visible in the bottom right corner.
Rising oil prices and uncertainty make homegrown clean energy transition more urgent than ever.

The housing crisis didn’t happen by accident. It’s the result of political choices.
Millions struggle to afford a home in Europe. Solutions exist.
The EU can act to make housing affordable again, but the EPP group and the far-right keep blocking progress.
