Das die NS Zeit nur „rudimentär“ unterrichtet wird, finde ich erschreckend, ehrlich gesagt. Gerade in Ö und D - aber nicht nur da!

Aber eben aus einer anderen Perspektive. Und, wenn man von Verbrechen der Vergangenheit der eigenen Vorfahren spricht, ist das Thema in Nordamerika natürlich ein anderes.
Das kann ich Dir nicht sagen; meine Tochter ist in Montréal in die Schule gegangen, und dort war das sehr wohl Teil des Geschichtsunterrichts.
Damals war jedenfalls klar, daß wir alle über die NS Zeit Bescheid wussten.
In meinem (kleinen) Freundeskreis während ich im Gymmy war, gab es mehrere die an der Hauptschule bzw. später im Poly oder in einer Lehre waren. Ich frag einmal.
Kann ich ohne jemanden, der die Hauptschule besucht hat, zu fragen nicht sagen.
Ich weiß nicht von welcher Zeitspanne Du sprichst, ich habe 1987 maturiert, und die gesammmte Oberstufe war voll mit Zeitgeschichte, incl NS Regime, Holocaust, mit Klassenreise nach Mauthausen.
