On my train journey this morning, I had an explore of the @authorfy.bsky.social platform and what a brilliant resource it is! Looking forward to exploring more at home with my daughters so they can watch some of their favourite authors talk about their books and writing.
I’m really looking forward to talking about reading at this LitDrive event. If you have a question or an idea, drop it below or send over to @litdrive.bsky.social
ECT mentors: join me on Wednesday to share best practice on how we are supporting our early career teachers. 👇👇
English subject mentors of ECTs and ITTs - what challenges do you face when working with your ECTs? Which areas do they need most support in? Is it subject knowledge? Support with adapting lesson resources? Subject specific pedagogy? I’d love to hear from you for some research. @litdrive.bsky.social

I keep coming back to this text for my studies and wish I had a copy when I was teaching. English teachers: this is a brilliant text for developing subject knowledge, approaches to studying fiction in the classroom and reflection questions. amzn.eu/d/bwJTK1q
The power of reading … my 7 year old writing like she is Enid Blyton. I’m in love with the opening line 😍 I’m sure we all know that feeling.
In association with @engmediacentre.bsky.social

I enjoyed reading this. I can imagine it is a good audio listen too
*this is not just teaching! I’m commenting more on the expectation of society/ we put on ourselves to be all the things all the time and it’s just so hard to keep all balls juggling - career, parenting, life etc
It’s hard. Yes, you have the holidays but what about the drops/pickups, the assemblies and school events you can’t attend or getting home to help your YR child with reading but they’re too tired because it’s so late. It’s a constant feeling of guilt. You love your job but you love your family too
This sounds really interesting for the sector. One l’ll be watching closely.
Went to the cinema (A Complete Unknown is v.good) and was served by ex-pupil who remembered our Much Ado lessons from y8 💛 never missed the classroom more …
It's competition time!

Thank you to @neilgilbride.bsky.social for sending me a copy of his new book. I am looking forward to reading and sharing with my ITTs and ECTs.
This is great, thanks for sharing

Enjoyed listening to @steplab.bsky.social webinar yesterday. Expert analysis of teaching clips and a generous free share from Steplab. Thank you to all involved.
Side note: love how @pepsmccrea.bsky.social frames the emotional response to watching teaching in the webinar and in the docu.
This sounds brilliant #teamenglish
ECTs and trainee teachers: please can I ask for your help?
I want to hear from you about your experience in teaching.
What do you love about it?
What do you wish you could change?
If you’re a teacher who left teaching after their first few years, what pushed you to leave?
Pls comment below👇
In my ECT seminars this week, I asked ECTs to share a thank you or a shoutout to their mentors. I’ve been reading them through and they are so lovely! I can’t wait to share with mentors and Induction Leads about the impact mentors are having. ☺️ @winacadtrust.bsky.social @natinstteaching.bsky.social
