I create daily link salads — short creative loops built around today’s date. Each post starts with a moment in history, a birthday, a national day or cultural release. Then I connect the dots using three movements: MOVE • ZOOM • SNAP

Well, a few days ago I got an ADHD diagnosis which I was skeptical but warily accepting of.
Since then I left my laptop at work, and left my phone on the bus.
And after I am done being very upset for losing my phone, this is going to be funny, because the universe loves to immediately humble me.
An almost B&W photo (but not!) of waves receding over some rocks on a black sand beach. In the distance are some mountain peaks under thick grey cloud, the tops obscured.
Even without the mountains showing, Stokksnes is still really special. Bit obsessed with these rocks!

Above Lima, on the first hills before the real Andes, the sun slowly dives into the Pacific Ocean. The city below remains vivid, its lights awakening as the day is far from over for most.

Stormy seas with northerly winds blowing the black (brown) sand down the beach and into the breaking waves. Sunset light, so looks sepia.

🎸 David Gilmour turns 80 today. As the guitarist of Pink Floyd, his playing helped define albums like The Dark Side of the Moon, where music, atmosphere and visual design came together in one of the most recognisable pieces of album art ever created. 🎨 Michelangelo would be celebrating his 551st birthday today. The Renaissance master sculpted David, the iconic marble statue that still stands as one of the defining symbols of Florence and of the artistic confidence of the Renaissance. Two Davids. Two art forms. One date on the calendar. From marble sculpture in Renaissance Florence to the soaring guitar lines of progressive rock, today’s Link Salad shows how creativity echoes across centuries. #LinkSalads #VisualStorytelling #OnThisDay #HistoricalConnections #ArtAndMusic #PinkFloyd #Michelangelo #Creativity #CulturalConnections

and happy 551st birthday to Michelangelo 🎨, creator of the statue of David in Florence.
Two Davids. One date. Six centuries apart.

5 March 1953. The death of Joseph Stalin dominated global headlines. But on the same day another Russian giant died — composer Sergei Prokofiev. His music lives on through Dance of the Knights, heard today in stadiums, television and even The Apprentice. In this Link Salad montage, the Soviet power struggle between Malenkov and Khrushchev becomes a dramatic dance-off… while Alan Sugar looks on, thoroughly unimpressed. History, music and television — all on one date. #LinkSalad #History #ColdWar #Prokofiev #Stalin #Shakespeare #TheApprentice #CreativeThinking #VisualStorytelling #HistoryConnections
5 March 1953: Stalin dies. On the same day the composer Sergei Prokofiev also dies — almost unnoticed. Today his “Dance of the Knights” echoes in stadiums and on The Apprentice. History remembers power. Culture lasts longer. 🎼🥗

Two presidents. Two moments in history. On 4 March 1933, Franklin D. Roosevelt delivered one of the most famous political lines ever spoken: “The only thing to fear is fear itself.” Nearly a century later, that message about leadership, confidence and resilience still echoes. Today’s illustration contrasts a modern Oval Office with the black-and-white footage of Roosevelt’s inauguration — a reminder that the words of the past can still challenge the present. Outside the window, crocuses bloom, signalling the arrival of spring. Sometimes history doesn’t just sit quietly in the past. Sometimes it looks straight back at us. #Leadership #History #FDR #PoliticalHistory #OnThisDay #Resilience #March4
If Starmer is no Churchill, then Trump is surely no Roosevelt. History has a way of setting the bar.

4 March 1933: FDR reminds us “the only thing to fear is fear itself.” Happy birthday Vivaldi too. Strong number four vibes today.
