The fear and stigma of the 1980's Aids epidemic still resonates today. This fear of Aids is why large segments of the US population is so against the gay community. Aids was the "Gay" disease. I grew up during the Aids epidemic.

Why have universal basic income and health coverage: Economic freedom. If you are not chained to an employer or area, you don’t have to live in a crappy situation. Employers and local government will have to give you a livable situation or you just leave.
