The DfE's new draft guidance about keeping children safe in education misinterprets the literature in some critical ways specifically when talking about trans and non-binary children and young people.
We followed the evidence.
@whatthetrans.com - when we recorded, we immediately thought of you.
It wasn't exactly how either of us planned on spending our weekend but...it felt needed.
Cora and I reflect on the new draft guidance. The consultation is live and I think we need to respond.

You can just tell that he doesn't care either - a complete game to him.
This feels like such an American import. I have family living in the states and the seasonal decor tat is off the scale! Every time I see it my eco-anxiety/grief/anger spikes. We defo don't need that here
This is the link to the consultation on the changes to KCSIE. Let's flood the consultation with responses pointing out why it's so problematic and will make children and young people less safe. I started teaching when section 28 was still in place. Not again!

This was a fun episode! So many aspects of Matt's work with school will interest EPs or anyone who's interested in raising outcomes for children from deprived backgrounds
Such a good and timely piece. Weβve all got to come together as citizens, activists, educational & health professionals, psychologists and far beyond. We are in an emergency. @zero-hour.bsky.social @bpsofficial.bsky.social
We're in a polycrisis that threatens the conditions that sustain human life and wellbeing.
We must decide, as educational psychologists, not IF, but HOW we will adapt.
Silence is no longer tenable and incrementalism is not sufficient
