A+ nickname
Sky were serviced the original US version of the episode, which was cut and compressed to include the Bartman video. I think they were later given the uncut version, which US viewers didn't see until a later repeat.
I have just updated this post with two cuts I missed from the season finale and had to have @rickc7.bsky.social point out to me (cheers to him)
Screenshot of a YouTube video of Blind Date, depicting a human Weetabix in a blue striped shirt with an inset photo of an attractive lady with hoop earrings and curly hair. (There is also an inset picture of Limmy in the corner as this is from his Twitch channel.) @zacharthur 1 mo ago OMG - that's me 35 years ago. Quick catch up since then - he sent me a load of shit poetry. Turned up uninvited to my hometown. Couldn't get rid of him until he ran up a very large tab at my local pub. He then ran away. Not heard from him since. I'm now nearly 60 and, after a succession of rough and vulnerable, but largely unfulfilling, types - ran away to the west coast of Scotland 9 years ago. I've been living in a caravan since my arrival here, right near the shore and am now a very happy, firmily committed singleton.

CD for 'Doctor Who: Star Flight' by Paul Hayes, read by Christopher Naylor. The cover depicts William Hartnell's incarnation of Dr. Who and his companions Susan, Barbara and Ian.
V excited to take delivery of the Doctor Who story of the year @paul-hayes.bsky.social
It is truly insane that a Doctor Who *spin-off* created this. Not even the main show. That's how powerful the Whoniverse brand was in 2009.
Not trying to make a wider point here, just, yeah, maybe I am. That powerful!
(Actually on closer inspection, it looks like an attempt to change the last digit to a '2' with correction fluid)
Beano 2372, which has the last digit of the issue number covered up.
All copies of 2372 appear to have the last digit covered up; numbering is correct again for 2373 onwards.
Beano 2370
Beano 2371, accidentally numbered 2370
Today's entrant for 'most useless comics fact of all time': There are two issues of the Beano numbered 2370 and none numbered 2371, as the actual issue 2371 was accidentally misprinted.

It is very much worth reading this obituary to Rob Grant over on Ganymede & Titan.

Having watched the episode for a second time tonight, I can only assume I thought it very loudly in my head first time around.
@wesleymead.bsky.social @rickc7.bsky.social I was absolutely *certain* there was a 'shit' in "The Star of the Backstage" that was left in Sky's premiere of it in 2022. I have a clear memory of being surprised it was left in and everything.
Checking E4's premiere tonight... did I just make this up?
It's on my Blogger profile: www.blogger.com/profile/0446...
Ah, if you've just DMed me I can't verify my age so I can't read it, sorry!
If it wouldn't be any trouble that'd be a great thing to have, cheers!

A Noddy branded cardboard VHS video cassette box.
I think this must be one of the weirdest branding exercises ever.
A list of short-lived British humour comics, how many issues they ran for and in what years: Buzz (103 issues, 1973-75); Cracker (87 issues, 1975-76); Plug (75 issues, 1977-79); Cor!! (210 issues, 1970-74); Knockout (106 issues, 1971-73); Shiver and Shake (79 issues, 1973-74); Monster Fun (73 issues, 1975-76); Krazy (79 issues, 1976-78); Cheeky (117 issues, 1977-80); Jackpot (141 issues, 1979-82); Wow! (56 issues, 1982-83); School Fun (33 issues, 1983-84); Oink (88 issues, 1986-88)
I have a plan to scan in one issue of each of these shorter-lived titles, so I thought I should make a to-do list.
As you can see, I may be here for a while.
I've fixed that now, cheers!
This splendid video by Paul Masters is full of joy, enthusiasm, luck and love for the relaunch of #DoctorWho in 2005 with contemporary footage and memories from two decades ago.

A tribute to Rob Grant by his writing partner, Andrew Marshall.

Very sad news about the death of Rob Grant.
Not only the co-creator of the brilliant Red Dwarf, but also part of the original writing team that made Spitting Image the huge show it became.
A huge comedy talent.
Fantasy style artwork of guard about to be killed by a similarly dressed assassin. It's meant to be a pawn taking another pawn in chess.
The cover of Let's play chess by Anthony Hansford
Fantasy artwork of a queen shooting another queen with a laser in a castle.
Chat with a friend reminded me of the ridiculously over the top artwork for the innocently titled Let's Play Chess book of the 1980s. Artist John Bolton. That the queen in chess doesn't actually have laser hands is probably the main reason I don't play chess today.
This might be the worst ADR in the history of television.
