This sounds fascinating and it's something I talk to parents about A LOT! Many schools are literally just teaching children to conform and become robots effectively. When a child starts to question they are often shut down. I've always encouraged my children to think critically and freely.

Generally they are. Never had an issue in 15 years of going to school performances.
I’m sharing a Palestinian account every day and today are Sara and Omer. Prior to the war they had lost their three children to Brown-Vialetto-Van Laere Syndrome, a rare genetic disease that was difficult to diagnose and treat in Gaza. Now they are struggling to stay alive themselves.
But it was lovely to see a child (who isn't mine) frantically waving and smiling at me. Turns out it was a pupil who was a frequent library user at my old school. I do miss being in the library.

If you are inviting parents into school for Christmas shows, expect there to be a little bit of noise from toddlers and babies. Some staff have absolutely no manners when it comes to handling these situations. It's even worse when it's the headteacher who is rude.
