(I hate how the japanese box arts for metroid prime 1 and 2 are not only much more boring than the western ones but also very similar. more irksome is that then the japanese box art for prime 3 is excellent and the western box art stinks)

and for funsies, because i am a self-indulgent silly-dilly ding dong: a third nine games, consisting ONLY of sequels, prequels, and spiritual successors of stuff from the first two.

i played a win9x version of it on a microsoft puzzle pack back in the day and a lot of it. its neat as heck. best/worst ice puzzles ever. the two alternating level theme midi tracks are seared into my brain for all eternity, along with the "bummer. :(" sound effect that played on your death.

heehee!! i don't have a lot of experience with the multiplayer minigames, just some faint memories from childhood of playing them once or twice with my cousin, but they're just such a good example of that game's unique feel

Still, they're great games with extremely lush pixel art and music and a surprisingly good story and I'm glad opinion on them has come around over the years. If you haven't given them a shot before, why not now?

In truth, I think not even the people at Pokémon really understood what they were doing with BW. Just look at the anime and how especially tepid the BW season was, for example. They were in prime position to learn all the wrong lessons from it and only recently have begun to unlearn them.
