Did One Battle After Another stand on their last stage accepting the highest prize of the night at PGA last night or is it still the movie of the moment? I’m rooting for it, but Sinners running hot and is obviously adored. And they’re campaigning hard.
One Battle After Another would be an unprecedented loser of Best Picture given that it won literally everything it could have up until tonight. At the end of every awards show for months they stood on stage.
Sinners won Ensemble at SAG. It’s either winning Best Picture at the Oscars or will be the obvious runner up to One Battle After Another.
I know they already voted, but the show really is leaning into a Sinners momentum—Caton’s performance after the In Memoriam, the pop for Jordan’s win, and a well placed trailer for Sinners right before ensemble is announced. I picked OBAA, but…
Good for Jordan. It’s crazy he and the other four nominees in lead actor for SAG were successful child (at least young) actors.
